When you look at the fact that the payments go directly to the credit card issuer, itâs easy for a cardholder to say that the credit card issuer is the one who benefits, but that line of thinking is certainly unfounded. After all, the credit card issuer did not take the credit card and buy things with it, and as such, it has no personal attachment to the merchandise that was purchased with the card it issued. The credit card issuer does not have anything to lose in the transactions because it is not his credit reputation that is going to be hurt if you are unable to make the payments. It is also not his family that is going to have to pay the credit card bill out of the estate if you should die without credit card protection insurance.
Of course, the credit card issuer benefits in the respect that he will get his money if you have credit protection insurance, but it isnât his major concern because he knows he will get his money as long as you are able to return to work at some point or if you die and he places a line on your estate. The one who stands to lose without credit protection insurance is the cardholder. After all, when the cardholder is unable to make the payments, it is his credit reputation that is at stake, and if the illness or condition lasts due long, it can financially ruin him.
The facts are that it is the cardholder who stands to lose the most in case of an illness or injury that prevents him from working if he has no credit card insurance. You have to be the one to take the steps to protect yourself and your financial well-being. You have to be the one to decide if you feel your credit rating is important enough that you should invest a few extra dollars per month to protect yourself with credit card protection insurance. The final decision is ultimately yours, but you want to remember that you are protecting your credit rating, financial well-being, and your family by taking advantage of credit card protection insurance. The price you pay is minimal in comparison to what you stand to lose by not taking the insurance. As the cardholder, you must decide what is most important.

It is so easy to get heavily into debt on credit cards that you within a few months or even weeks you could find yourself not being able to keep up with the repayments. If this is the case, then you should think about consolidating your credit card debt. Consolidating your debt can make it easier to manage your money problems as well as helping you to save money. Here are some useful hints about consolidating credit card debt.
What is consolidation?
Consolidation is where you take all of your debts and combine them into one debt. For example, if you have 2 or 3 credit cards with a balance on them, you could get one credit card to cover all of the debts and transfer each balance onto this card. This way all of your debts are covered in one place and you only have one bill to pay.
How to consolidate?
There are different ways you can consolidate your credit card debt. One way is to get out a loan in order to cover your credit card debts and then pay off your credit cards using this loan. Then you can pay back the loan over a longer period of time. Although this is good because the interest rate will be lower than the credit cards, it will most likely take you longer to pay off. Another way is to get a credit card that has a limit that can cover the debts you have, or at least most of them. This way you can put all your debts in one place and pay them off.
Cards for consolidation
In order to consolidate your credit card debt onto one credit card, you need to make sure that you get the right card in order to make it worthwhile. Getting a card with a higher or equal interest rate than you currently have will not make any difference. Instead, look for a card with a lower interest rate that will help you to save money and pay off debts quicker.
0% cards
The best cards to get for consolidation are cards that offer 0% interest on balance transfers. Some of these cards offer 0% for up to one year, which will mean that you will pay no interest on the balance you transfer to the card for a year. This can save you a lot of money as well putting all your debt into one convenient place. For example, if you have a balance of around £3,000 to transfer from 15% cards, with 0% for a year you could save around £200. These cards are especially good if you can pay off the debt within the promotional period.
Cancel your cards
Remember, when you consolidate your credit card debt, it is important to cancel all or some of the cards that you have transferred from. Although cancelling too many cards can hurt your credit rating, it is better to cancel them, as this will stop you from being tempted to use them again and thereby further increasing your debt. If you have 2 or 3 cards with no balance, then get rid of all but one of them so that you have less chance of increasing your debt. If you consolidate your credit card debts correctly then you will make paying your bills easier and save yourself money on interest payments.

Every time an individual goes to the grocery store, the items in the cart may be less, yet the total bill is still higher. Likewise, based upon the prices at the pump, consumers may often wonder if the tank is being filled with liquid gold.
In general, the cost of living seems to be rising faster than the typical household budget can accommodate. No problem! If cash is short, simply whip out the little plastic rectangle from the wallet, and basic needs, and many wants, will not have to be sacrificed to a shortage in finances. Actually, used in excess, credit card debt can fast become a really big problem, and insurmountable financial woes are lurking around the corner.
Used in moderation, credit cards are an excellent tool for making necessary purchases. For example, possessing large amounts of cash seems like tempting would-be pickpockets and muggers to “pick me!” Rather than opening a wallet to reveal the entire vacation budget, travelers often opt to use a credit card for financing the journey. Actually, the practice is a smart idea, under one vital condition: avoid credit card debt; pay the subsequent bill in its entirety.
For the rare individual, a credit card is an excellent means of controlling the budget and earning cash back, or significant travel rewards. Used carefully, a credit card can be implemented for paying all the regular bills, groceries, and gas. Then, at the end of the month, when the bill arrives, the amount is paid in full with a single check or an electronic funds transfer.
Unfortunately, a growing number of credit users are experiencing the financial woes of credit card debt, because the bill cannot be paid in full during the billing cycle. Month after month, the unpaid balance continues to grow, and in no time at all, the card is maxed out. In addition, once someone has one active credit card account, the mailbox is soon inundated with offers for introductory rates on additional cards. Soon, one card-for emergencies only-soon becomes 2, 3, 4, or more cards.
At first, the credit seems like “free” money. With only a signature, a consumer can purchase the perfect outfit, electronic device, or any number of wants. Yeah! Tired of always having to feel deprived, or shopping for sales, the card seems like a dream come true, until the bill arrives, and the person wakes to a real-life nightmare. Now, the budget is even tighter, to included the new credit card bill/bills. Spending is out of control, and the consequences of credit card debt can be devastating.
The consequences are bills, bills, and more bills, compounded by the excessive interest on the unpaid balance. Generally, credit cards charge 18-23 percent interest. While the numbers may seem insignificant at the time, the additional monies owed for the privilege of paying the balance back over a long period can add up quickly. For example, an individual finds a nice television set on sale for $500. Instead of saving and purchasing a set when he/she can afford it, the credit card comes in handy.
Now, assume the credit card company charges 18% yearly interest, and the minimum monthly payment is 10%. An individual will take 2.5 years to pay off the single purchase, which will end up costing a whopping $575. Actually, most credit card providers only require a 2% minimum payment. Refigured, the single purchase will take almost 4 years to pay off, and the interest amount is an unbelievable $198! Free money? Nothing can be farther from the truth.
Credit card companies are not benevolent individuals graciously helping people out of the budget crunch. Like any business, the object is to make money. Instead of kind benefactors, some credit card companies are better described as relatives of loan sharks.
However, instead of breaking a person’s legs if he/she is unable to pay the bill, credit card debt can destroy good credit. Now, the individual will have future trouble purchasing a car, buying a house, qualifying for student loans, etc. For some, bankruptcy is the only way out of credit card debt, and he/she can lose everything.
However, before diving into total depression over credit card debt, observe the light at the end of the tunnel. Free services are available to help people negotiate with lenders to reduce the amount of interest. Also, the debt counselors can consolidate all debts, reducing the interest rates, and bringing the payments down to a manageable amount, with a catch. The debtor is no longer allowed to purchase anything on credit, until the balance is paid. Otherwise, credit card debt will only get worse, with no recourse.
The best advice: do not depend on credit to fill shortcomings in the budget. Instead, refigure the budget, learn to conserve, do without, and save for major purchases. In the event a credit card must be used in true emergencies-like unexpected auto repairs or emergency room visits-pay the bill off as soon as possible, and always pay more than the minimum amount. Also, if the temptation to spend in advance is too strong, cut up the credit cards and throw them in the trash.
In summary, credit card debt is a growing problem. While the convenience seems like free money at the time, the consequences can be financially devastating. Although a credit card is great for emergencies or vacations, pay the balance in full or as soon as possible. Always pay more than the minimum payment requested, and stick to an affordable budget.

Losing your credit card can be really unfortunate for you but your real trouble starts when you realize that your credit card is being subsequently used without your permission. Credit card loss/theft liability is governed by Sections 83 and 84 of the Consumer Credit Act. However to get the benefits from this act you have to follow certain procedures. You have to immediately report the loss of your credit card. When you become aware that your credit card is missing, contact your credit card company without delaying a moment. Usually credit card companies provide you their emergency contact information when they issue you your credit card. This is extremely important because once you have notified them you will no longer be held liable for any misuse of your lost credit card.
There are however limitations to the extent of liability depending on cases. You cannot ask for coverage for misuse of your credit card if the same has been used by a person whom you have named as an additional cardholder in your credit card application. It has been discovered that sometimes the husband or wife exceed their respective authority by making unauthorized purchases without the knowledge of the cardholder (husband/wife). However if you are an innocent victim of fraud then you may be charged for a minimum amount by your credit card company. Credit card companies normally reimburse you the amount that you have lost but if it is proved that you have acted fraudulently or without caution you will be made liable for the entire amount lost plus other charges.
Some of you may no longer require your credit card but this does not mean that you have to just throw it away as junk. Cut your credit card into two and dispose it off at a proper place. You must take the same care when you receive your credit card from a credit card hub. Always keep it in a safe place and remember the place where you have put it. Do not lend your credit card to anyone but if you do so make sure that you can trust the person of not misusing it.
Credit cards are normally kept inside wallets or purses and these often stolen or lost. Credit card is an important item just like other identification cards, ATM cards etc and the loss or theft of these cannot be helped. The plus point is that credit card companies have procedures and policies to help you when you find yourself in such a situation. They earnestly offer you protection against your credit card loss or theft. However you should refrain from panicking. Use the toll free number provided by your credit card company to report the loss of your credit card.
Under no circumstances you should give out your PIN number. It is better to use a different PIN number for each card if you have more than one card from the same credit card company. Choose a PIN number that others find it hard to guess and change your PIN number once every two months to be on the safe side.

The average American has over $8000 in credit card debt. Making minimum payments and not accumulating any more debt, it would take you 30 years to pay off the card and thousands more in interest. That’s why an important part of any family budget is to reduce and pay off that debt as soon as possible. Here are some ideas to get you on a road of no more credit card debt.
Fewer Cards
Your first goal in reducing your credit card debt is to avoid accumulating more debt while you work on paying the current debt off. After all, what good does it do you to pay $200 toward your credit card and then use it to make another $200 purchase. A good way to avoid using your cards is to get rid off most of them. If you have a current balance owed on the card and it isn’t feasible to transfer the debt to an account with a lower interest rate, simply cut up the cards to avoid using them again. Close the credit card account as soon as you have paid it off.
Your ultimate goal will be to only have one or two credit cards for online purchases and emergencies. You will only be using it for non-emergency purchases that you know you can pay off within 30 days.
Freeze Your Assets
Most of us like to keep at least one or two credit cards around for emergencies. The problem is we end up using the cards to buy a new pair of shoes, take our spouse out to dinner or buy that new TV we really want. If you are prone to these types of impulse buys on the credit card, try freezing them.
Yes, I am serious. Take a gallon sized Ziploc bag, drop your credit card in it and fill the bag with water. Stick the bag in the freezer. Within a few hours your credit card will be encased in a block of ice, making it less convenient to just grab it and buy something. At the same time you know you can thaw it out in a few hours if you really need it.
No More Impulse Buys
How many times to you go to the store with a particular item in mind and end up buying a few extra things you didn’t even know you couldn’t live without? I’m taking about impulse buys.
We go to the grocery store and are presented with all sorts of special deals and easy grab-and-go offers at the end of isles and at the cash register. We go to the mall to buy a white sweater and end up with a pair of earrings or new boots as well.
Storeowners have figured out exactly how to push our buying buttons and get us to purchase items on impulse that they know they couldn’t sell us if we took a moment to think about it.
Before you make a purchase, take a moment and consider if you really need this now. For larger purchases sleep over it. You’ll be surprised how many deals don’t look quite as good anymore the next morning.
$20 Is All It Takes
We’ve talked at length about how to cut down on spending and using your credit card, now it’s time to start paying off the debt you currently have. All it takes is $20 to get you started. Of course if you can come up with an extra $100 or even more, go for it.
At the very least I want you to come up with an extra $20 a month and add it to what you are currently paying toward paying off your credit card. Start with the card that has the highest interest rate. If you are currently paying about $100 a month toward that card, increase it to $120 until the card is paid off. Then use those $120 a month and add them to what you are currently paying toward your next card. Can you see how quickly this can add up and get you out of debt - especially once you have the first card paid off? By consistently doing this you can be out of credit card debt for good in a few years.

Credit cards are considered to be one of the most important financial tools in modern society. Not only are individual people getting benefits from credit cards, even businesses, small and large alike, are now using credit cards to provide financial assistance to their business on times they need it most.
If you are one of the many business owners in America, having business credit cards can definitely be an asset to your business. The main advantage that business credit cards can provide your business is that it will enable to assist your business on its financial needs with greater ease. And, it will also bring you a lot of savings if you use it right. Here are some of the things you need to know when choosing a business credit card in order to make sure that you choose the right one for your business.
First, just like ordinary credit cards, there are quite a number of business credit card offers available. When choosing a business credit card, it is important that you determine what you will primarily use it for. Try asking yourself what kind of purchases you will make with the business credit card. By asking this question, you will be able to know what kind of business credit card you should choose. For example, if your business will require you and your executives to travel a lot, then you should choose a business credit card that offers accumulating points or air miles. Or, you can also get a gas credit card if you and your business associates frequently use cars for travel.
After making a decision of choosing the kind of business credit card to get, the next step is to shop around for it. Like shopping for a regular credit card, you should also choose a business credit card basing on the features it offer. It is always important to choose a business credit card that offers the lowest interest rate. If you are lucky enough, you may come across a business credit card that doesn’t have any interest rate. However, business credit card offers like this will usually have an annual fee that can cost as high as 200 dollars. If you can’t find an interest free business credit card, go for the lowest possible fixed interest rate.
Rewards are also an important feature you should look for in a business credit card. In business credit cards, you will typically see benefits, such as air miles, office supplies discounts, and gasoline discounts. You also have to know what stores are participating with the business credit card reward offer. Try to look for stores, hotels, airlines, gas stations, and etc. that you normally do business with in order to make the most of the points you earn on the business credit card.
Another feature you should look for in a business credit card is the balance transfer feature. If you have an outstanding balance in another credit card account, you can consolidate the balance in your business credit card. This is a great money saving feature that you certainly would want to take advantage of. Also, not all business credit cards offer this kind of feature. By shopping around, you will be able to choose from the best business credit card offers. If you do need to provide your department heads a business credit card, you may request a daily online reporting to keep track of the purchases made.

I tried to sign up for a gas card to just put my gas on to pay off to build my credit, but was denied. I’m wondering, when it asks during the credit card statement, it says if you rent or own the place you live, but i’m living at home with my family so how am I supposed to say how much I pay in rent or mortgage? It also asks for household income? Do I put my parents income in along with mine or what?

The first step in getting a card, if you are in a hurry, it should be to apply online for instant approval credit card. It is this plain and simple. Internet came into being only about a decade back and in this extremely short period of time it has become an integral part of our daily life.
Starting from applying for credit cards to finding friends to shopping, Internet has become the most important facilitator in our life.
Let us go back in time by just more that a decade or so, or before the advent of Internet to be precise. Applying for a card those days was as time taking and cumbersome as any other process of that age.
For most people like us, getting a credit card involved replying to a credit card invitation along with completely filled up application form and relevant documents attached. And then, the wait through excruciatingly long waiting period before the credit company processed your application form, verified your credit record and other credentials and communicated to you their decision, consent or otherwise.
This entire process used to drag on for weeks, or even months before anyone finally received his or her cards. One of the slowest links in this entire chain was the speed, or lack of that, of a snail mail. Atypical to any snail mail, communication between the credit applicant and the card issuer company used to take days, or even weeks. In addition to being time consuming, this process was expensive as snail mail is never free of cost, unlike web-based communication.
With the advent of Internet, everything changed. Well, almost.
Apply online for instant approval credit card, and you are through more than half of the application process. Applying online reduces communication cost as well time involved, there by making life easier for you, the buyer, as well as the credit card companies, the seller.
However, there is a very commonly prevalent misconception that needs to be addressed to. Instant approval credit card does not mean you get a credit instantly. Instant approval credit card simply implies that the decision of giving approval to the applicant will be taken instantly.
The physical delivery of the card, however, will take a couple of days more.
Despite the fact that an approval credit card does not result into instant credit cards, these cards offer marked advantages as compared to tradition credit cards. A comparative evaluation of features of other similar credit cards, for example, is a tool that may differentiate a good credit card from a financial debt trap.
A preliminary search in common search engines like Google, MSN or Yahoo will throw hundreds of credit card company sites that promises instant approval. As a mature customer, dear friend, it is your duty to filter out not so good offers from the best of the offers.
And this requires a bit of effort in terms of screening through the terms and conditions, especially the charges applicable and the credit period. So you can consider and apply online for an instant approval credit card anytime soon, for at least, urgent financial security situations that might arrive.
