Wasn’t approved for credit card, why?

I tried applying for my first credit card with the bank Chase and wasn’t approved. I applied for a Chase Freedom Master card. The letter I received said that I had no information in the credit bureau. I understand that I don’t have any credit information because I’ve never had a credit card before to build my credit score, but how am I expected to do so if I can’t get one to begin with?
well jimmy, I’ve added all my details. I haven’t missed a single thing. The letter said "The reason(s) why you did not score well compared with our other approved applicants were: No information in credit bureau" so apparently that is all the reason they need not to approve me.

You were turned down most likely because you don’t have existing credit and because banks are being very picky about who they offer credit to. It’s a tough situation, trying to establish your credit, but you should take this as an opportunity to ask yourself why you need a credit card in the first place.

    You have not provided enough information, like..
    * What is your age ? 13 yrs ?
    * Do you have an account with the Chase Bank ?
    * Do you have a police record ?
    *Are you paying taxes ?
    * Are you in employment ?
    * Have you otherwise satisfied all the conditions required by the bank ?
    * etc.

    What else did the letter mention ? The fact that you do not have a record at the credit bureau is not enough reason for you being refused a credit card …..There must be some other valid reasons…. Any bank would be grateful to issue one to you if you qualify….

    The reason you just stated is why they didn’t approve you. They have no track record/credit rating to base whether you could pay them back, or how you pay your bills. This is how most credit cards are for first timers. You can try applying at Capital One. They have a card for first timers and will usually give a low limit ($300 or so) and that will help you build some credit.

    If you cannot even get that, STOP applying! It is only hurting your credit file. Go to your bank and ask to open a secured credit card. Deposit $200 to open it, and that will be your credit limit. Within 18mos to 2 years of using it and paying it off/on time, you should be able to convert it to an unsecured card. Ask your bank for the time frame of converting it, as every bank is different.

    Try with capital one bank. They are known to approve cards for people with no/bad/min credit. You can apply online at capitalone.com
