What is good credit card interest to look for?

My husband and I both have steady jobs (hes in the army). We also have great credit. We have never had a credit card but have been talking about it lately.

Whats a good credit card interest to look for? Any other good credit card information we should know? (that we cant find online)

The worst reason to look for a credit card is interest or APR.
This is why:
Carrying balances is not only harmfull to your credit worthiness and credit rating - but in some cases it can destroy your life.
Remember: Employers will look at your reports before hiring you.

To get good credit get any card that does not have an annual fee.
Get top scores like this:
Use the card monthly for something you need like food or gas.
Pay in full the day the bill comes in the mail.
You will never pay a penny interest - APR this way.
Voila - top 800+ scores.

It is 100% myth that carrying balances is good for your credit.
Something old ladies that watch QVC will tell you.
Don’t do it - don’t mess up your life.
Pay in full and enjoy good jobs and good credit.

Depends on what kind of credit card you want,

Since you haven’t had a card before I’d suggest Navy Federal,

Navy Federal Credit Union is popular with the military, their basic Platinum cards have lower interest rates making it cheaper to carry a balance, they don’t have any rewards, and they tend to give larger initial credit lines than PenFed,

Pentagon Federal Credit Union has one of the better cash back rewards cards IMHO, although the interest rate is high if you revolve a balance, But you shouldn’t carry a balance anyway, they tend to be conservative with new credit limits,

If you are into accruing airline miles, then you may want to look at an American Express card,

USAA offers a USAA Amex Card, those have good interest rates, But USAA tends to be conservative with their lending, However if you use the card wisely, you can grow a pretty good credit limit with them, Same with PenFed and NFCU,

I know several people who carry the PenFed and NFCU cards, I only use the PenFed card,

    Good luck,

    Hello,

I think this website will help you since they have a low APR Cards (0%) and also no annual fees or and transfer fees.

    http://offeringcredit.com/

Also look for the articles within the website since they are giving you some good info about credit cards.
Another thing …. if you do not feel secure to order with them (via internet) you will have a 1800 number to speak with an agent ( the number is from the credit card CO…not the website)

Good luck and don’t get to many, spend them wise!!

    Cris.
